Fun Hanging Tomato Grow Bags
Growing hanging tomatoes from seed is exactly the same as growing conventional tomatoes.
Hanging tomato grow bags. Tomatoes have a deep root system going as deep as 24 to 36 inches 61 to 91 centimeters or more. Then add the tomato plant and water it well. Fill the bag with potting soil to within 2 to 3 inches of the top of the bag.
This means that you will need deeper grow bags for larger varieties of tomatoes. This grow bag is designed to have proper drainage for water so that it will help your plant to keep away from dying from overwatering. It helps to have one person hold the tomato plant in position while a second person adds soil to the bottom of the bag.
Of course the more plants you want to grow the larger bags you will need. We bring the materials into our facility in NorCal and super cool people sew and package them with care. Place the trays in a warm location and germination should take place within 2 weeks.
This process may take a little longer in cooler climates. The fabric also aerates soil prevents heat build-up and allows excess water to drain away. The designed is shallow and depth.
To plant your tomatoes directly into the grow bag use a hand trowel to create a planting hole and gently knock the plant out of its original pot. Tomatoes planted in traditional hanging baskets are planted in very much the same way you plant a pot of annual flowers.
